A True Partnership

Starting a conversation with potential clients can be tricky, especially when it comes to differentiating yourself from your competitors.

Having worked with us on a range of different projects, Expedia asked us to create a commercial to engage potential hotel partners. We worked with the team to establish what sets them apart from other online travel agents and developed a charming concept that demonstrates that Expedia offers true partnership to the hotels they work with globally.

The video is used at industry events, conferences, on Expedia’s website and in face-to-face meetings around the world to lay the foundations for a productive initial introduction to new potential partners

MyWellness Cloud

After introducing a new product to the market, Technogym’s sales teams were looking for the best way to prove its value during talks with potential customers.

In this case study, we explore why staff and members of Harlow Leisurezone find MyWellness Cloud so beneficial, creating the opportunity to bring real life endorsements into sales conversations with other gyms.

Induction Modules

With some part time staff unable to attend a full three-day induction, EE needed a more flexible way to deliver training, whilst maintaining a consistent experience.

After attending an induction, we identified six key elements that make up effective classroom training. By redesigning each element to work effectively on screen, these Induction Videos make entire modules available on demand to those who could not attend the whole training, or act as a recap for those who could.

Health & Safety

We can all think of teams that do important work that goes unappreciated. Expedia’s Health & Safety team were experiencing this, so when they asked us to create some process training, we looked into how to best portray the team as valuable and proactive.

It was essential that we elegantly tackle difficult topics such as conflict, illness or even death. We created a set of simple, likeable, brightly-coloured characters so that the audience would feel sympathy when they come into danger. This then allowed us to champion the Health & Safety team’s diligent efforts to keep travellers safe.

The Competition

Explaining how a complex system works can easily become confusing and boring for your audience.  But fail to explain the essentials and people will become confused, leading to a glut of questions and countless of hours of wasted time across the organisation. This was the case with Expedia’s Dashboard, which Account Managers rely on to do their job every day.

To clear the mist, we untangled the complex algorithms and designed visual representations to explain the tool’s inner workings. We felt the data needed a human touch, so we transformed an East London railway arch into a sleek bunker office, equipped with a vast blue screen. This is a stage for our actor to guide us through the content, whilst lending the Dashboard team spades of geek chic.

A Day In The Life Of...

With similar teams based all over the world, Expedia wanted an effective way to share best practice.

Shot as a documentary series, ‘A Day In The Life Of…’ is positioned as a way to learn about other departments within Expedia.

It has been developed knowing that employees are extremely likely to watch the series featuring their own job role.  By focusing on top performing teams - and presenting their techniques as standard practice - this series inspires positive changes, without demanding them.

With three series profiling teams in London, Prague and Rome, this has become one of the most popular video series on Expedia’s internal training app.

Backpack To Briefcase

With young graduates bringing bad habits into their first office job, Expedia needed to deliver training that may not be obvious to some employees, without patronising others.

Parodying a U.S. cable news channel, 'Backpack to Briefcase' is designed to attract its target audience with tongue-in-cheek humour, whilst using the newsroom setting as an opportunity to tackle the issues in a clear and direct manner.

Success Stories

When launching their training app, Expedia was looking for compelling videos that would feature employees, regularly bring in a wide audience and give a global feel to the app, all whilst being cost effective to produce.

Filmed on iPhones around the world by Expedia’s team, Success Stories are then edited and animated by us. They are designed to draw in employees who are keen to see their friends and colleagues in action. Several new Success Stories continue to be published every 3-4 weeks.

The EE Way

With so much content to teach a new employee, EE wanted to make their induction training even more efficient.

By sending this video to delegates ahead of their first day, new starters arrive prepared with an understanding of what is expected of them.

To avoid being perceived as ‘homework’, our video takes place in an abstract setting and deliberately makes no reference to the products and services offered by EE.

'One Team' Event

To create better working relationships between colleagues, Expedia organised more than 30 events around the world to bring teams together.

Tasked with creating one video to open every event, we knew that we needed to spark the audience’s interest with something unexpected, and establish the theme for the day whilst relying on as little language as possible.

Using a setting familiar to the audience, this tongue in cheek video pokes fun at a hotel restaurant team that struggles to collaborate.
